It is like a network — a circuit — that becomes flooded with stimuli that have no outlet, and so it sends signals to the body, causing it to get stuck in alarm mode.
Every stimulus feels like too much, every trigger feels twice as heavy, every sound is too loud, and even simple movements can feel difficult…
At this moment, our nervous system is being brought back into balance. All suppressed emotions and traumas are being pushed to the surface so they can be released for good.
The body can only let go when it feels safe enough to fully feel everything, at the pace that is determined from within.
Instead of reacting to what arises: observe, breathe, seek rest — even if you do not feel it physically yet. Make yourself as comfortable as possible and remove yourself from situations that feel uncomfortable, overwhelming or unsafe. Choose your own well-being decisively, even if that means saying no to others.
