A new community: thriving not surviving

Come up with a crazy business idea.

Business is all about money. It is about generating an income that is solid and that can provide enough – preferably much more than enough – so that there is freedom and security in our material life. In the end that’s what we all want, right?

Having had many jobs and trying out different businesses I have changed and grown in my perspective on what work should be like. We require money in our society to meet our basic needs and so we are encouraged, if not pushed, to strive for success for the sake of survival. Oftentimes we settle for less just because having little money is better than having no money. But our current system isn’t designed to help others as much as it is to gain wealth. Which for many of us is hard work and a constant battle for more. And I, for one, would like for this to change.

I would love to build a community where there is housing, farming, schooling in the most natural and authentic way of living. Where natural abilities / talents are encouraged and developed to help each other without needing money as a goal to obtain. This means a whole new way of teaching / studying and implementing new ways that are aligned with our natural abilities. People have so many unique talents and traits that can be used to form a healthy, thriving, wholesome, new society where the focus is on investing in growth in every way possible: material, physical, spiritual and emotional.

I believe that going back to our roots and creating small communities that are in connection with nature will help us to reconnect with our core. So this way the reward for our hard work is the warmth of a supportive community and the security of being provided for without ever having the fear of not having enough.

So no crazy or wild business plan from me. I just want a world where we can thrive without needing to survive.

If anyone has a dream like that (or is already doing it) and ideas how to go about it I would love to hear it!
