I wanted to give you a little peek into one of my sketchbooks…
I have quite a few, filled with pencils, markers, and paint — each one holding its own little world.
In this video, you’re seeing the one where I’ve been playing with alcohol markers.
And honestly… sometimes when I leave a sketchbook untouched for a while, I completely forget I have unfinished little projects in there… oops 😅
What you’ll see are half-finished sketches, drawings that never got colored, and even one by my son Noah…
He loves what I do and tries to bring faces to life in his own way too — and of course, I fully encourage that 😍
Over the years, I’ve let go of perfection.
I stopped being so critical of “mistakes” (which I usually only notice when a piece is already finished anyway ),
and I’ve learned to enjoy the process more than obsess over the final result.
So this is your reminder…
it’s okay to leave things unfinished.
It’s okay to come back to something a year later.
It’s okay to draw a crooked line and simply… make it part of the piece.
Creating isn’t that different from life.
Sometimes you go outside the lines, sometimes you spill paint on yourself,
sometimes it just doesn’t turn out the way you imagined.
And you know what? That’s perfectly okay.
Creation is messy, experimental, and a little all over the place sometimes…
but that’s part of being human.
We’re here to create, to play…
and yes, sometimes to drop the pen and start a new page.
Anyway… enjoy the drawings.
And who knows, maybe you’ll spot one you’d love to see me finish?
Let me know what speaks to you, I’m curious 😉
