The upside of the ego

There is a lot of information online and in books on what our ego is. Recently I have been seeing many people that have been calling the ego bad and that it is in the way of us reaching our true potential. It is not allowing us to blossom and to shine and keeps us in one place. Overall the ego has been given a bad reputation and it seems like everyone is trying their best to get rid of it, like it’s a bug that is flying around and trying to sting us.

The ego is not as bad as you might think. The ego is actually a great teacher in very important life lessons. The ego brings up certain traits in ourselves that we might have not been aware that we even had. It is there to show what area in ourselves we need to work on. So when you feel angry and when you explode it is your ego trying to show you where you should work on and what you need to heal and what side of yourself is lacking of love. Because every unpleasant emotion you are experiencing comes from within and it’s being brought up so you can embrace it and comfort it. The ego is just like a little child that is throwing a tantrum and just wants to be hugged and not fed with more anger, more jealousy or more of any negative emotion. It doesn’t want MORE it actually wants LESS. Less drama and a lot of love.

Have you been feeding your ego with more? Just more of what it has been showing you? Have you been completely lost in the emotion where you have lost your sight and and were living in its drama? The solution is to put your ego on a healthy diet. Whenever your ego gets hungry and throws you an overwhelming emotion, which is similar to a lemon, then just add a lot of sugar to it. Break through the illusion of the fear and go to the core where you can find the sweetness of love. Because it is within where the delicious surprise lies.. no drama and no lemons.

If you think there will be a point in your life where your ego will dissapear you are wrong. Your ego will be with you for the rest of your life. It is how you handle your ego that will decide how much you will be able to grow and how it will affect your life. So become friends with your ego and listen to it when it gets angry.. feed it with love and watch it get less. ❤
